The Journey between home and hospital is a collection of stories told by six people who have survived cancer. They tell of their experiences, their thoughts and feelings, and describe how cancer has changed their lives. Through pictures and sound, the stories, convey the strength of human spirit over adversity.

There are four voices in this story, an administrator, clinical psychologist, a complementary therapist and an art therapist
This story began with an art therapist and a chemotherapy nurse discovering common ground in the nurse’s tearoom on the Oncology Ward one Tuesday morning. They both wanted a palliative cares service that would be able to offer a more comprehensive and holistic approach. They believed that people ill with cancer living in rural areas, should have the same choices that people would be having in the large cancer centres in England. They spoke with the Macmillan Nurses, the asked the advice of the Oncology Consultant, They rang the Big Lottery and Macmillan Cancer Support. Their idea began its lengthy journey to becoming reality.
